A 42-year-old miner died in the Borynia-Zofiówka-Bzie mine. Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa reported that the accident occurred on the night from Thursday to Friday.
The accident took place in Ruch Borynia in Jastrzębie-Zdrój in the subwall of the F-21 wall at level 950.
“For undetermined reasons, the employee fell into a moving scraper conveyor, as a result of which he suffered mechanical injuries to his head and lower limbs,” JSW spokesman Tomasz Siemieniec said in a statement.
After transporting the injured person to the surface, the doctor pronounced him dead. The 42-year-old miner had been employed in the mine since 2008.

The causes and circumstances of the incident will be investigated by the commission of the District Mining Office in Rybnik and the plant's health and safety services.
