PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe signed a contract for the construction of a stop in Józefin and the reconstruction of platforms in Mrozy and Chotyłów on the Warsaw-Terespol line. The value of these investments is approx. PLN 23 million.

– We fight against communication exclusion. That is why, among other things, we are implementing a government program for the construction or modernization of railway stops for the years 2021-2025. We ensure that residents of smaller towns gain free access to the railway. More and more people will use this ecological and safe means of transport – said Andrzej Bittel, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Infrastructure.

In connection with the project, two new platforms will be built in Józefin between Warsaw and Mińsk Mazowiecki and Terespol. As the railwaymen informed on Monday, there will be shelters and benches that will increase the comfort of traveling. There will be LED lighting. Orientation will be facilitated by boards with legible markings, display cases with timetables, as well as boards with electronic timetables and sound system.

There will be guided paths on the surface of the platform for the blind and visually impaired. Bike racks are provided to make things easier combining travel by rail and individual means of transport.

Traveling from the new stop will be convenient, e.g. towards Warsaw and Mińsk Mazowiecki. You can reach the Warszawa Stadion stop in about 23 minutes, and Warsaw Śródmieście in about 28 minutes. The value of the financed investment is approx. PLN 7.1 million. Travelers will benefit from the stop in Józefina in October 2023. The investment will result in a more comfortable train journey towards Warsaw, Siedlce, Biała Podlaska and Terespol.

– The stop in Józefina is of particular importance, because it is here that in 2020 the launch of a new program increasing access to railways was announced by the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Andrzej Duda – says Ireneusz Merchel, President of the Management Board of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe SA
