Two fire engines were handed over on Friday by volunteers from Kielce to Ukrainian firefighters. The organizers of collections for help for war-torn Ukraine, Liwiusz Falak and Rafał Moszczyński, in addition to the vehicles themselves, also helped fund power generators and school supplies for schools in Czuhajewo. Since the beginning of the war, the activists have already collected over PLN 650,000.

From the very beginning of the war, Liwiusz Falak and Rafał Moszczyński have been involved in helping the combatant Ukraine. Firefighters from across our eastern border have already handed over a total of six fire engines as part of the action called “war extinguishing”. Since February last year, they have already collected about PLN 650,000 for the organization of humanitarian transports.

Another “tranche” of aid – two fully equipped Star brand fire trucks – set off for the Ukrainian Chuhayev near Kharkiv (near the border with Russia) in the night from Thursday to Friday. Ukrainian firefighters, together with Chuhuev’s authorities, collected them at the border crossing in Hrebenne.

– In addition to fire engines, 13 generator sets (generators – ed.) go with us to schools and school supplies. We established cooperation with Street Child, an international foundation that helped us in purchasing aggregates, and thanks to local collections at the Zieliński Palace (Dom Środowiska Artystych in Kielce – ed.) and the support of companies (…), we bought school supplies worth about PLN 30,000 zlotys, said volunteer Liwiusz Falak on Thursday to TVN24 journalist Ewelina Wojtusik.

They auctioned the car at the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity auction, gave it to Ukrainian firefighters

Falak recalled that after the start of the war, he and his friend came up with the idea to help Ukrainian firefighters. – It all started at the auction in the Zieliński Palace two years ago at the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, where I auctioned off a fire truck put up by the Volunteer Fire Department in Bobrza. When the war started, we thought that this might be what they were missing. In addition to weapons, you also need to save people – said the volunteer.

The Moto Truck company joined the campaign of volunteers from Kielce. Its representative, Bartosz Bień, reminded that the company handed over a heavy firefighting vehicle to Ukraine at the very beginning of the war.

– We are in constant contact with firefighters in Ukraine and try to help them as much as we can. We cooperate with foundations, to which we regularly provide (…) off-road vehicles that can cope with any terrain. (…) Our company is occupied for two years ahead, and despite this, we are trying to put these cars into production. Often people stay after hours at work to make it on time and help with the production of these cars – emphasized Bień.
