On Sunday morning on the national road No. 7 in Łomianki there was an accident. The driver of a passenger car hit the traffic light, which overturned onto another vehicle. The man was drunk. He went to the hospital. There are traffic jams.
Information about the accident was confirmed by Kazimierz Jawroski from the Poviat Headquarters of the State Fire Service for the West Warsaw poviat. – The incident took place in Łomianki on Kolejowa Street. The driver of the car hit a pole. He was taken to the hospital. One fire brigade is on site to secure the scene. The police are carrying out their activities, the fireman said.
Gabriela Putyra from the Capital Police Headquarters provided us with more details about the accident. “The incident was reported to us around 8.50am. Preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of the Volkswagen left the roadway and hit a traffic light pole. The pole overturned and hit an oncoming car. The perpetrator of the incident was injured. He was taken to the hospital, Putyra said. Turns out he was driving under the influence of alcohol. The test showed almost a per mille of alcohol in the exhaled air, the policewoman added.
The seat driver was not hurt. There are difficulties in traffic on the road towards Warsaw. The left lane is busy.
