The police detained a 43-year-old man who allegedly destroyed a roadside shrine in Lubartów. According to the findings, the man tore off the statue of the Virgin Mary from the platform and smashed it, and also damaged a car parked nearby. He has already been charged with insulting religious feelings and destroying property.
The notification was submitted to the Lubartów police in February. Someone damaged a statue of the Virgin Mary located in one of the roadside shrines.
“The figurine was detached from the base and broken,” wrote Staff Sergeant Jagoda Stanicka from the District Police Headquarters in Lubartów in a statement.
He also allegedly damaged the car
The officers detained a 43-year-old resident of the city, who will also be held responsible for damaging a passenger car that was parked on one of the neighboring streets.
He has already been charged with hurting religious feelings and destroying property. The man will answer to court for the crimes he committed. He faces up to five years in prison.
