London welcomed the New Year with a 12-minute fireworks and drone display. According to the mayor of the British capital, Sadiq Khan, it was the biggest fireworks show in Europe. As noted by the BBC, this is the first New Year’s Eve since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic when residents of the city gathered in such large numbers on the streets.
