IMWM issued first degree warnings against frost. Forecasters predict the temperature will drop below zero degrees. Check where light frost will settle.

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings.

IMWM warns against frost

Level 1 warnings have been issued due to expected frosts. Applies to voivodeships:

  • Lower Silesiapoviats: Lubań, Lwówek, Karkonosze, Jelenia Góra, Wałbrzych, Wałbrzych, Kłodzko;
  • Silesiannorthern counties;
  • Świętokrzyskie;
  • Lesser Polandnorthern and southern counties;
  • Podkarpackienorthern and southern counties.

The air temperature is forecast to drop to approximately 0 degrees Celsius, and to -3 degrees Celsius near the ground in depressions. The alerts will be valid until 7 a.m. on Thursday.

Cold Gardeners and Cold Zośka

Frosts may return in the following nights. Temperatures will drop to negative values ​​during the so-called cold gardeners and Cold Zośka, the period from May 12 to 15.

“Very cold air from northern Europe reaches central, northern and eastern Poland. Low temperatures during the day and frosts at night and in the morning will accompany us in the coming days,” emphasizes IMWM in an entry on the X website.

What is the IMWM first degree meteorological warning?

The first level warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by road traffic, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
