At an unguarded railway crossing in Osów (Wielkopolskie Voivodeship), a truck collided with a freight train. The driver failed to exercise due care and drove straight into the oncoming train, police said. An air ambulance landed at the scene. We received photos from the scene on Contact 24.

The incident took place on Thursday around 10 am on an unguarded railway crossing in Osów in the Koło district. Police received a report of a collision between a lorry and a train.

– The driver, driving a Volvo truck set with a semi-trailer, a 53-year-old resident of the Konin district, did not take special care at the railway crossing and drove under the oncoming freight train – said Daniel Boła, press officer of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Koło.

The driver was taken by helicopter to the hospital

As he added, the passage was without signals and barriers. – The truck driver was transported to the hospital by LPR helicopter – emphasized Boła.

At the scene, the police carried out an inspection to help clarify the exact causes and circumstances of what happened.
