Prime Minister Donald Tusk appointed the heads of ABW, AW, CBA, SKW and SWW – informed the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. All of them have been acting heads of these services since December 19, 2023.

Col. Paweł Szota became the head of the Intelligence Agency, Col. Rafał Syrysko of the Internal Security Agency, Agnieszka Kwiatkowska-Gurdak of the Central Anticorruption Bureau, Col. Dorota Kawecka of the Military Intelligence Service, and Gen. Jarosław Stróżyk of the Military Counterintelligence Service.

In information on the website of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Syrysko previously worked in the counterintelligence and internal security departments, and also as a representative for the protection of classified information at the Office of State Protection and the Internal Security Agency. The announcement shows that the new head of the Military Intelligence Agency, Col. Szota, has been in service for 24 years, initially as an officer of the UOP, and then of the Intelligence Agency, and the new head CBA Kwiatkowska-Gurdak has been associated with the uniformed services for 20 years – initially as a police officer, and since 2015 in the CBA branch in Bydgoszcz.

“The work of the Military Counterintelligence Service will be headed by General Jarosław Stróżyk, whose experience includes, among others, as defense attaché at the Polish Embassy in Washington and deputy director of the NATO International Military Staff. Col. Dorota Kawecka, in service since 2002, remains the head of the Military Intelligence Service. , with experience in the analytical department, SIGINT electronic intelligence and in the foreign service of the Military Diplomatic Corps in London,” the law firm said in the information.

The heads of the secret services are appointed by the prime minister after consulting the president, the parliamentary committee for secret services and the College for secret services. The content of the opinion is not binding on the head of government.
