The police, under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, are investigating the circumstances of the death of a 25-year-old whose body was found in the Podwisłocze housing estate in Rzeszów (Podkarpackie Voivodeship). According to investigators, the dead man had injuries on his body indicating that he could have been the victim of a crime. “The opinion of the autopsy will be crucial,” they emphasize.
The body of a 25-year-old lying near a bench at Podwisłocze Street in Rzeszów on Sunday (January 8) was discovered by a random passerby in the evening. – At the moment, I can confirm that the body of a 25-year-old resident of Rzeszów has been found. The man had bodily injuries, but the doctor who examined the corpse at the scene was unable to determine whether the 25-year-old self-inflicted or the wounds were inflicted by third parties, prosecutor Krzysztof Ciechanowski, spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Rzeszów told us.
The prosecutor does not provide information on the injuries suffered by the 25-year-old, or whether a tool with which the wounds were allegedly inflicted was found at the scene.
Key autopsy
The body has been secured for examination and an autopsy will be performed. – The opinion of the experts will be of key importance to us and it will guide the further course of the investigation – emphasizes the prosecutor.
The police worked at the scene under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office. As Krzysztof Ciechanowski told us, forensic traces and evidence have been secured to help determine and explain the causes and circumstances of the event. “At this stage, we are considering every possible scenario of what could have happened, including suicide, homicide and manslaughter,” the prosecutor said.
