In the district of Skierniewice (Łódź Voivodeship), a 14-year-old shot his 11-year-old sister with a firearm. A spokeswoman for the Provincial Police Commander in Łódź, Commissioner Aneta Sobieraj, said that the girl was hospitalized “in a fairly serious condition”. She added that “the weapon probably comes from the period of World War II.”
The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in a small town in the district of Skierniewice (Łódź).
– We have received information that a 14-year-old resident of the Skierniewice district shot his 11-year-old sister – spokeswoman for the Provincial Police Commander in Łódź, Commissioner Aneta Sobieraj. “The girl was taken to the hospital in a serious condition,” she said. She added that “the weapon probably comes from the period of World War II.”
The police are explaining the circumstances of the incident. It is not yet known how the 11-year-old was shot.
The RMF24 portal reported that the police talked to the boy right after the accident. He said he found the rifle in the woods. “The shot occurred while cleaning the gun. It was an accident because the rifle just suddenly went off,” the portal wrote.
