Lyudmila Ocheretna, former wife of Vladimir Putin, wants to “urgently sell” two properties in Spain. The reason is said to be fears of EU sanctions, reported the Spanish daily El Mundo.

Oczeretna wants to sell two apartments in the Lomas del Rey residential complex, located in the southern resort of Marbella Spain. According to “El Mundo”, quoted on Wednesday by “Ukrainian Pravda”, the cost of these properties is EUR 2.2 million. The reason for the sale is the fear of being covered by European Union sanctions. The ex-wife of the president Russia is already on the UK sanctions list.

Her current husband, Artur Oczeretny, bought apartments with an area of 229 and 405 square meters in 2011 and 2014, shortly before marrying LudmiÅ‚a, and registered them in his name. To pay for them, he obtained a mortgage from one of the Spanish banks. As reported by the Spanish media, the purchase of a Spanish property worth more than 500,000 euro gives foreigners the right to obtain a residence permit in Spain, initially temporary – for a year, and then permanent.
