IMGW forecasters warn – strong gusts of wind are forecast in the Baltic Sea. Level 2 alerts have been issued for the storm. Experts recommend caution and call for following further messages.
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued a second degree warning against a storm in the Baltic Sea. The warnings apply to the entire reservoir, including its southern and south-eastern parts, adjacent to the Zachodniopomorskie and Pomorskie voivodeships. Wind gusts can reach up to 8 on the Beaufort scale.
Dangerous sea conditions
Forecasters predict that in the southern part of the Baltic Sea there will be a south-west wind with a force of 7 to 8 on the Beaufort scale, gradually weakening to 5 to 6 on the B scale in the afternoon. This means that first wind gusts may reach 50-70 kilometers per hour . The temperature will be around 6 degrees Celsius. Visibility will be good to poor, with periods of rain possible.
Second level warnings are issued when dangerous meteorological phenomena are expected to cause significant material damage and threat to life. Dangerous phenomena limit the conduct of business. Caution is advised, the need to follow messages and weather developments.
