The tornado passed over Wierzawice (Podkarpackie Province). The fire department said strong winds damaged the roofs of nine buildings. It was also dangerous in other parts of the province.

On Tuesday, a storm front passed through Poland, accompanied by heavy rainfall and strong winds. In part of the country an RCB alert was in effect and orange warnings IMGW against thunderstorms.

Around 19 pm in Wierzawice near Leżajsk (Podkarpackie Voivodeship) a short-lived tornado passed. According to the fire brigade, strong winds tore off the roofs of nine residential and commercial buildings. Remediation is in progress storm and securing buildings.

On Tuesday, Podkarpackie firefighters intervened 74 times in connection with the storm front that is moving through the province – informed the duty officer of the Provincial Crisis Management Center in Rzeszów Peter Dean.

– Activities consisted mainly of removing water from basements and properties. They had the most work in the following districts: Dębicki – 32 interventions, Leżajski – eight, Krosno – six and four interventions in Strzyżów and Brzozów – he said.

As the WCZK duty officer pointed out, three power lines and 23 transformer stations do not operate in the region, therefore 793 recipients remain without electricity supplies, mainly in the area of ​​Sanok and Mielec.
