An unusual situation on a farm in Łęka near Łęczyca (Łódź Voivodeship). The tits have built a nest under the hood of the tractor. – I was plowing the field because my husband was in the hospital and this bird was sitting on these eggs and was not afraid of anything – describes the owner of the farm. The representative of the Łódź zoo admits that it is the first time he has heard about such a situation.
The tits built their nest under the hood of the tractor in early spring. They were discovered by accident by Mr. Kazimierz, who was preparing the vehicle for upcoming field work. He immediately called his wife Jadwiga. – I was plowing a field not so long ago because my husband was in the hospital and this bird was sitting on eggs under this mask and wasn't afraid of anything. He takes part in field work. I watch it carefully, it flies out from the side of the tractor from time to time. He probably goes to eat and comes back after a dozen or so minutes, says Mrs. Jadwiga. The woman adds that the tit is not afraid even when the tractor hood is opened.

“It's the first time I hear about such a situation”
– Honestly, I don't know how to comment on this. It's the first time I've heard of such a situation where tits built a nest in a tractor that is in use and did not leave it even during field work – admits Michał Sobczak from the breeding department at the Łódź zoo. – It's probably the power of instinct, apparently this place suits this tit and it doesn't see any threat. This nest should not be disturbed, we have to keep our fingers crossed that we will be able to raise the young – he adds.
