After the October elections, the Ministry of Health donated nearly PLN 400,000 to the Lux Veritatis Foundation, associated with Tadeusz Rydzyk – according to the ministry’s response to questions from Krzysztof Brejza, a member of the Civic Coalition. The money was donated to buy airtime on Telewizja Trwam, of which Rydzyk is the director. They were supposed to finance the broadcast of the “I plan to live a long life” campaign. “The money came from the National Oncology Strategy,” the KO politician points out on social media.

According to a document shared by Krzysztof Brejza on social media, on November 23, an MP from the Civic Coalition asked the Ministry of Health whether the ministry or its subordinate units had made any transfers to the Lux Veritatis foundation since October 1. The Deputy Minister of Health responded on behalf of the ministry Waldemar Kraska.

Extra money for Rydzyk

The deputy minister said that two such transactions have been made since October. The first one was made on October 18 and amounted to PLN 192,926.12. The second one – completed on November 17 – amounted to PLN 184,593.48. According to the ministry’s declaration, the money was used to purchase airtime and broadcast spots on TV Trwam. They were supposed to finance the broadcast of the “I plan to live a long life” campaign.

According to the letter, the funds would come from the multi-annual program National Oncology Strategy for 2020-2030.

Explains

“The Ministry of Health cooperates with foundations and other entities if it is in the interest of patients and health care systems,” the deputy minister emphasizes in the letter.

The issue of transfers to the account of Rydzyk’s foundation was also discussed in the “Kropka nad i” program. Monika Olejnik asked the PiS senator about this StanisÅ‚aw Karczewski.

– Very good campaign. (..) Social awareness is very low and we need to make citizens aware that they should be tested – said Karczewski on TVN24. – I believe that any money to reduce the number of late diagnosed cancers is good – he said.
