In February, a fire in an apartment building in Valencia killed ten people and burned down over 130 apartments. The Spanish police determined that the cause of the fire was a refrigerator failure, or more precisely, a leak of a flammable refrigerant from the back of the device.

According to the conclusions of a report published on Saturday by the daily Levante-EMV, the cause of the tragedy was the leakage of a flammable refrigerant from a refrigerator in one of the apartments.
According to investigators from the Spanish Criminal Police, the fire broke out as a result of the release of isobutane and the appearance of a spark in the back of the refrigerator.
A few days after the fire, police experts claimed that the possible source of the tragedy was a failure of one of the electrical devices, but they could not determine the exact cause of the fire.

A fire in one of the apartments in a 14-story apartment building broke out on February 22 in the afternoon in the Campanar district north of the city center. Due to the strong wind that was blowing at the time, the fire quickly spread to neighboring buildings.
