Ana Walshe, 39, has been wanted by the Massachusetts State Police for a week. The woman’s husband, Brian Walshe, says the last time he saw her was when she left the airport for a flight to Washington. On Monday, however, a bloody knife was found in the couple’s home and the husband of the missing woman was charged with deliberately misleading the police. “The various testimonies delayed the investigation to such an extent that he had time to get rid of the evidence,” investigators said.

Ana Walshe, 39, of Cohasset, Massachusetts, was reported missing by her employer on January 4 after she failed to show up for work. Her husband, Brian Walshe, 47, told police he last saw his wife in early January when she got into a taxi and headed to the airport to fly to Washington for work. The man also testified that on January 1 he was with their three children in one of the local restaurants, where he bought them ice cream.

Missing woman

Since January 4, police searched the area around the couple’s home in Cohasset, a town about 30 kilometers from Boston. Meanwhile, investigators have determined that Ana Walshe was not driving a taxi or traveling by plane, prosecutor Lynn Beland said on Monday. Based on the recordings from the monitoring, it was also found that the 47-year-old was not in the indicated restaurant. Instead, it turned out that he had gone to a hardware store and purchased $450 in cleaning supplies.

In this situation, investigators questioned Brian Walshe’s testimony about his actions and movements. “These various testimonies delayed the investigation to such an extent that he had time to get rid of the evidence,” she said. Brian Walshe was indicted on Monday on charges of misleading investigators looking for Ana Walshe.

Soon after, police found a bloody knife in the basement of the couple’s home. Detectives also discovered that the missing woman’s husband was searching the Internet for answers to the question “how to dispose of a 50-kilogram body of a woman” and “how to dismember a body”, Reuters reported, citing two sources familiar with the investigation.

Brian Walshe in custody

Brian Walshe’s lawyer said Ana’s employer reported her missing because it was her husband who called the company to inquire about her whereabouts. She pointed out that he had been questioned many times and had agreed to a search of his property. “He was extremely cooperative,” she said.

The man was taken into custody, and the judge set bail in the amount of $ 500,000. Brian Walshe pleads not guilty.
