Police officers from Podlasie detained two more people who were allegedly involved in organizing illegal transport of foreigners from Belarus to Germany. A couple from Ustka (Pomeranian Voivodeship) heard allegations.
According to the Provincial Police Headquarters in BiaĆystok, the first lead of a group dealing with organizing the transfer of foreigners from Belarus to Western Europe appeared a year ago. Then it was possible to stop two couriers who came to the HajnĂłwka poviat to take people who illegally crossed the border.
They were taken into custody by court order, where they remain to this day. It was after their arrest that the criminals together with the investigators began to decipher how the criminal group involved in this practice works, the police inform.

Darknet classifieds
As the officers managed to establish, a couple from the Pomeranian Voivodeship is involved in the organization of the entire procedure. They posted information about jobs for drivers, among others, on the so-called darknet. “For finding a person willing to do such work, the person organizing the whole procedure received a minimum of EUR 500 from the main principal. The driver received a location on the phone where he was to go to pick up waiting people who illegally crossed the border, and then transported them to the western border” – say the Podlasie uniforms .
Upon arrival, the driver was supposed to take a photo with the immigrants at the western border as evidence. In addition, the police officers managed to determine that the transport consisted of two vehicles – in front of the car in which the immigrants were transported, there was another vehicle that provided information about police patrols, traffic jams, etc.
Development case
The couple detained in Ustka were transported to BiaĆystok. There, they heard charges of organizing illegal border crossings and facilitating assistance to people crossing the border illegally. A 25-year-old man was arrested by a court decision, and his one-year-younger partner was released after paying bail and placed under police supervision.
The couple faces up to eight years in prison. “The case is ongoing and investigators are not ruling out further arrests,” the police said.
