The Warsaw Police Headquarters received a report regarding an attempt to set fire to the Nożyk synagogue in Warsaw. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, also informed about the matter.

As Commissioner Jacek Wiśniewski from the Warsaw Police Headquarters said, the police are carrying out activities related to this event.

“Rabbi Schudrich writes that someone tried to set fire to the Nożyk synagogue with a Molotov cocktail. Thank God, no one was hurt. I wonder who is trying to disrupt the anniversary of joining the EU. Maybe the same ones who scribbled Stars of David in Paris?” – Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski wrote on Wednesday on the X platform.

The Nożyk Synagogue at 6 Twarda Street is the only preserved and functioning pre-war synagogue in Warsaw. The building has been undergoing renovations since 2008, including: the roof covering was replaced and the damaged wooden structure was repaired.
