Since this year, the Warsaw City Guard has been organizing self-defence courses not only for women. “Safe Varsovian” is a series of classes aimed at men, where they can learn basic defense techniques in dangerous situations.

– Until now, only women were allowed to participate in the classes. During the announcement of the next editions of the course, we were also called by gentlemen who really wanted to participate in these classes. This year, for the first time, we also invite men – said the head of the Training Department Tadeusz Birke and added that separate groups will be created: for women and men.

Self-defense and first aid classes

As part of the course, participants will be able to learn basic self-defense techniques. In addition, they will learn what are the best ways to avoid threats and how to deal with dangerous situations. During the classes, city guards will show how to use everyday objects for their own defense. The course will also include first aid classes.

The winter-spring edition of the course will take place in two municipal police headquarters: in Wola (a group for women, a group for men) and in Praga-Południe (a group for women). It will consist of nine meetings. Classes will start at the end of January and will last until the end of March. “They will be led by qualified instructors of the city guard, who also train officers in tactics and techniques of intervention” – informed the city guard.

Detailed information on the records will appear on the website and social media of the city guard.
