A lot of changes are planned for passengers of the Fast City Railway from June. Trains on some lines will run with greater frequency, others will return to their permanent, longer routes.

The Public Transport Authority announced changes to the timetable of SKM trains from June 9.

“SKM S1 and S2 will return to their standard routes, i.e. Otwock – Pruszków and Warsaw Chopin Airport – Sulejówek Miłosna with standard frequency (two trains per hour). It will also be possible to correct the route of the S3 line, which will then return to the cross-city line,” ZTM reports .

Moreover, instead of two SKM trains passing through the Warszawa Śródmieście station, there will be five different lines (S1, S2 and S3).

ZTM also declares that from June it will be possible to extend the route of the S40 line to the Warszawa Główna station. Currently, trains on this line only arrive at Warszawa Rakowiec station. This means easier transfers to trams and buses leaving from the Zawiszy Square area.

“From December, we want the S40 trains to run through Warsaw Gdańska to Radzymin, offering convenient transfers, including at the Młynów (M2) and Dworzec Gdański (M1) metro stations,” ZTM announces. However, it stipulates that the final decision in this matter will rest with the railway infrastructure manager, i.e. PKP PLK.
