Six companies want to undertake the reconstruction and greening of 2.5 hectares of streets and squares in the area of Złota and Zgoda. The city is analyzing the offers received. – The most favorable one was submitted by Skanska – the city hall reported.
The reconstruction is to cover the following streets: Złota, Zgoda, Sienkiewicza and Jasna and the spaces between them.
“This is a key and largest project currently being prepared as part of the New Center of Warsaw program,” the city hall emphasized in a statement. As he explained, this will allow for the connection of individual “islands of activity”, i.e. the so-called Five Corners Square, street Chmielna and Bracka, the newly rebuilt Powstańców Warszawy Square and the so-called Centralny Square, which is being built nearby the new headquarters of the Museum of Modern Artj.

Offers from PLN 49 to 76 million
Six companies are interested in implementing the investment: Skanska, Budimex, WPM Mosty, the Balzola and Lantania consortium, Strabag and Wod-Kan-Bruk. “The offers that will now undergo formal analysis range from PLN 49.1 million to PLN 76 million. The most advantageous of them was submitted by Skanska SA,” the city hall announced on Thursday.
The selected contractor will have 24 months to carry out the works. The work will be carried out in stages to ensure, among others: access to buildings.

“Attractive and multifunctional space”
“The aim of the entire investment is to create an attractive and multifunctional space in the city center. There will be plenty of greenery, high-quality small architecture, and new city squares,” the city hall says. There will also be more space for pedestrians. Parking spaces will be moved underground to the nearby Powstańców Warszawy Square (there will be space for over 400 cars).
The project for the reconstruction of the area of Złota and Zgody streets is being developed according to the concept created by the Warsaw studio RS Architektura Krajobrazu, which won the competition.

As part of the concept of the New Center of Warsaw construction of the so-called Central Square, i.e. a fragment of Defilad Square in front of the main entrance to the Palace of Culture and Science. Archaeological research has been completed, and the construction of retention reservoirs that will allow rainwater to be recovered is also being completed.
