Warsaw. Parades in the center, changes in traffic

On Wednesday, May 1, public meetings combined with processions are announced in the center of the capital. Buses and trams will run on changed routes, the capital city hall announced.

The first two assemblies and May 1st marches were announced for 11 a.m. Participants of the assembly that will begin at the de Gaulle roundabout, they will pass through the following streets: Nowy Świat, Świętokrzyska, Mazowiecka, Królewska and they will get there pl. “During this time, there may be difficulties in the operation of trams on Aleja Jerozolimskie and on the Poniatowskiego Bridge (lines 7, 9, 22, 24) and on MarszaÅ‚kowska (lines 4, 15, 18, 35, 36), which will bypass the closed section along Aleja Jana PawÅ‚a II. There will be bus routes on the detours 107, 111, 116, 128, 175, 180, 503, 518 and 520” – said the Municipal Transport Authority.

Line buses 100 towards the Central Station from the intersection Anielewicza/Świętojerska/Andersa will go through Andersa, pl. Bankowy, Senatorska, Nowy Przejazd, al. Solidarności, Śląsko-Dąbrowski Bridge and continue along your route.

After the opening of Bonifraterska Street, detours for buses on the line will be shortened 116, 178 and 503which, when going south, will join the changed routes only from the intersection with Świętojerska (on the other side of Świętojerska they will return to the basic routes).

From 9 a.m., parking spaces on both sides of Podwale Street, from Senatorska to Kapitulna, will be closed. Parking restrictions will remain in force until the end of the celebration on Friday, May 3. On Friday, 3rd of May, the central celebrations of the May Third National Day will take place at Castle Square and Piłsudski Square. Throughout Friday, parking spaces on Królewska Street on the side of the Saski Garden, as well as the parking lot at Teatralny Square, will be excluded from parking. Additionally, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., temporary traffic closures are possible on the following streets: Podwale, from Senatorska to Kapitulna; Senatorska, from Miodowa to Podwale; Jezuicka; Canonry; Dean's Office; Castle Square. Piłsudskiego Square will also be closed to traffic from 12 to 12:30. On Friday, a parking ban and a sign informing about the possibility of removing the vehicle at the owner's expense will appear on the following streets: Jezuicka, Kanonia, Świętojańska and Piwna.

On May 3, there will be a special car ride “3rd Polonez Rally on the Constitution Day of May 3rd”. At 9 a.m., participants will begin to gather on the Romantic beach in Wawer, and at 1 p.m. they will set off for the parade along the following streets: Rychnowska, WaÅ‚ MiedzeszyÅ„ski, Siekierkowski Bridge, Aleja Becka, WisÅ‚ostrada and PuÅ‚kowa Street up to the city limits.

A public meeting will begin at 12 noon, with participants gathering in front of the seat of the Constitutional Tribunal at al. J. Ch. Szucha 12A. The organizers planned a march: along Szucha Avenue, through Na Rozdrożu Square, Aleje Ujazdowskie, Matejki, Wiejska, Matejki, Aleje Ujazdowskie, Wilcza, Krucza, Nowogrodzka, Mysia, Bracka, Aleje Jerozolimskie, through Dmowski Roundabout, Marszałkowska, through Bankowy Square and then to the square Krasiński family.
