The weather on Wednesday will be shaped by the Meryem high, bringing with it cold air from the north. In much of the country, the morning is cool but sunny. As explained by the weather forecaster tvnmeteo.pl Arleta Unton-Pyziołek, an atmospheric front is coming from the east, bringing snowfall.
Poland fell under the influence of the vast, cold Meryem high-pressure area with its center located over Scandinavia, the forecaster told tvnmeteo.pl Arleta Unton-Pyziołek. Cold, humid air of Arctic origin flowed down from the north, which is clearly visible in the temperature on Kasprowy Wierch – there the thermometers indicate as much as -15 degrees Celsius. However, the high-pressure area from the north and east is being squeezed by an atmospheric front with fleeting snow, associated with the low from the Black and Baltic Seas.
Morning in Poland
Wednesday morning is sunny in most of the country, only in the north and west of Poland there are more clouds. In the Szczecin Lowland, Lubusz Land and western Wielkopolska, snow is falling, but the rain zone is moving away to Lower Silesia and eastern Germany. Weak snowfall also occurs in the area of the Gulf of Gdańsk and in Warmia.
The temperature at 6 am was from -7 degrees C in Kozienice, Kielce and Łódź, through -5 degrees C in in Warsaw up to 2 degrees C Gorzów Greater Poland. We were accompanied by a light and moderate wind from the west and north-west.
