WOŚP 2023 Rzeszów – concerts, program of events of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity

The 31st Grand Finale will take place on Sunday, January 29. On that day, concerts, shows, cultural and sports events will take place all over Poland. Volunteers will traditionally collect money in the streets. This year, the income from the fundraiser, online collections and auctions will be donated to the purchase of enabling devices faster diagnosis of sepsis.

Over one and a half thousand staffs have been registered throughout Poland, exactly 42 in Podkarpacie, two of them are active and will collect funds in Rzeszów.

The first operates at the Youth Cultural Center in Rzeszów. – We have been playing with the Orchestra since 1993. First, together with the charges of our facility, we joined the organization of events accompanying the final, ten years ago we established a staff – says Magdalena Sierzęga from the MDK.

The second staff operates at the Rzeszów branch of the Kennel Club in Poland. Members of the association have also been supporting and joining the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity for years.

This year, on the streets of Rzeszów, on the day of the WOŚP final, a total of 180 volunteers will be collecting money – 140 from the MDK and 40 from the Kennel Club – they will be collecting money with dogs. Volunteers will be able to take a commemorative photo with them.

– Our volunteers are mainly students from Rzeszów schools and students, but there are also children and adults – tells us Sierzęga.

The youngest registered volunteer at the MDK headquarters is a five-year-old girl. – Last year we failed to get to the staff, this year parents systematically checked the registration deadline so as not to miss this moment. She is a very sensitive and empathic girl, she wanted to collect money very much – says Magda.

There is also an eight-year-old whose brother has a hearing loss. The defect was diagnosed in him on the second day of his life thanks to the equipment from the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Today, the boy hears thanks to hearing aids, goes to school and develops like his peers. The whole family will be able to invest on the day of the Final to thank the foundation.

In turn, the youngest “helper” of the volunteer will be a 3.5-month-old girl, whom her father will take to the fundraiser on the day of the final. After giving birth, the girl stayed for a month in the neonatal ward and used the equipment, including incubator, purchased by the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. So far, the girl’s father has raised funds to help other children, this year he will raise funds to thank Jurek Owsiak’s foundation for the equipment that saved his child.

There is also a volunteer who collects money to fulfill the wish of his deceased friend. – For many years she persuaded him to participate in the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, but only after her death did he decide to do so. Today, he is the first person to report to our staff, the first to set up an e-banking box (virtual WOŚP can – ed.), He was also the first person to report a desire to set up a stationary can in his company this year – says Sierzega. And he adds: – As you can see, we really have an extraordinary team.

Estrada Rzeszowska is the organization of events accompanying the final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity in the capital of Podkarpacie. The final event will take place on September 29 at the Rzeszów Market Square. – We start at 2 pm. The event will be opened by a procession of volunteers, which will set off to the Market Square from Zamkowa Street. There will be dog shows prepared by the Rzeszów branch of the Polish Kennel Club, combat and fire trucks presented by the Stalowa Historia Foundation, attractions of the Sopelek Walrus Club in Rzeszów, face painting and glitter tattoos, balloons, as well as workshops animated by the Mini Brain Academy. – says Sebastian Stachurski, coordinator of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity on behalf of Estrada Rzeszowska.

The final will also be accompanied by a bicycle rally organized by Cyclo Rzeszów. The organizers have prepared two routes: road and recreational. One has 32, the other – 56 kilometers. Both will start in front of the Taurus store at 46 Kwiatkowskiego Street and end at the Rzeszów Market Square.

Traditionally, the final of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity in Rzeszów will be accompanied by a concert prepared by the charges of the Youth Cultural Centre. Singers, dance groups and theater groups will perform on stage. During the concert there will also be an auction of the cups won by the teams during the competitions. The proceeds from the sale will be credited to the account of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.

There will also be something for motorcycle fans. The Steel Roses MC East Gate motorcycle club will set up its stand on the Market Square. – For years, we have been trying to support the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity with our activities, and this year will be no different – Konrad Krupiński, a member of the motorcycle club, tells us. Volunteers will be able to take pictures with motorcycles. An additional attraction will be a show of a unique guitar, which was created in cooperation with Pusz Guitars especially for this 31st Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. – We combined metalwork with electronics, the final effect is stunning. It is certainly the only custom guitar in Poland, and perhaps in the world, that is a full-fledged instrument – describes Krupiński.

The guitar will be available for bidding at Allegro GOCC auctions. Among the most interesting auctions there is also a 30-minute flight over Rzeszów in a Cessna plane, a visit to the Sejm with Wiesław Burz, MP, annual vouchers to the FlyWall climbing center and the FlyPark network of Trampoline Parks.
