In the village of Zajezierze (WarmiĆsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship) a passenger car drove into a pond at night and sank. The driver managed to get out early. He was sober, but he did not adjust the speed on the curve and lost control of the vehicle.
The incident took place around midnight on a private property in Zajezierze near MaĆdyty. According to the police, the driver of the BMW was driving too fast. “He did not adjust the speed on the curve of the road, as a result of which he lost control of the vehicle and drove into the pond. He was driving alone, he was sober” – told PAP Sergeant Paulina JastrzÄbska from the OstrĂłda police.

The car was submerged a few meters from the shore, only part of the roof was visible. The emergency services were called by a person living nearby. The driver got out of the car before it sank.

“The man left the vehicle on his own before the arrival of the rescue services. He was not injured. The local residents were helpful enough to give him dry clothes” – junior brigadier Marcin WiĆniewski from the PSP district headquarters in OstrĂłda told PAP.

Firefighters in buoyancy suits reached the sunken car. The vehicle was pulled ashore with ropes and a crane. The fire brigade from MorÄ g and the fire brigade from Zajezierze, JarnoĆtowa and MaĆdyty participated in the action.
