In Zgorzelec (Lower Silesian Voivodeship), a drunk 31-year-old man was running away from the police in a passenger car. While driving, he hit a fence and his vehicle overturned on its side. Nothing happened to the man. He will now appear in court for his irresponsible behavior.

On one of the streets of Zgorzelec, the driver of the Mercedes did not stop for road control. The policemen used light and sound signals, but the 31-year-old did nothing about it. He sped up and started running.

“During the escape, he exceeded the speed limit and at some point he lost control of the vehicle, and then hit the fence” – said com. Agnieszka Goguł from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec.

A 31-year-old under the influence of alcohol

There were two other passengers in the 31-year-old’s car. The police conducted a sobriety test on the driver. It turned out that he had almost 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. The man was arrested.

“The 31-year-old was punished with a fine of PLN 1.5 thousand for causing a threat to road safety. On the other hand, he will be prosecuted for failing to stop for a road check and driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated” – said the police officer.

He is facing up to 5 years in prison.
