Brazilian police rescued a young jaguar that was intended for illegal trade. Some of the people responsible for the breeding were detained.

The animal was released from captivity on Thursday south of Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian services boasted about the successful operation on social media, where they published recordings and photos from the moment of his rescue.

The jaguar was kept in poor conditions. According to authorities, the suspects planned to sell it for more than four thousand US dollars.

He was placed under the care of specialists

Officers transported the scared young jaguar to the Wildlife Research Center in the city of Seropédica, Rio de Janeiro state. Specialists will examine his health condition and take care of his rehabilitation.
