A pair of swans set up a nest in the center of Bydgoszcz (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship) and are expecting offspring. The city provides peace for the birds – for this purpose a special fence has been installed and a monitoring system has been installed. Thanks to the camera, the fate of the swan couple from Mill Island can be watched live on the Internet.
There are probably four eggs in the nest that the swans built on the escarpment between Rother’s Mills and the Mill Island in Bydgoszcz.
– The swans have made a nest, which means that young birds will be born. For about 35 days we have to leave them alone. We asked the residents to follow them on a camera, possibly from a distance – says Michał Sztybel, vice-president of Bydgoszcz.

For this purpose, officials have installed a camera that allows you to follow the fate of the swan couple live (HERE). A fence has also appeared so that no one scares the birds away. – They need peace, but later we will organize a naming contest – adds Sztybel.

Dawid Kilon, an ornithologist from Bydgoszcz, admits that a pair of swans has been wandering around the city since last year. – She tried to build her nest in various places. And she took a chance. I don’t know what was going on in these swans’ heads. Perhaps they knew they would be looked after by officials who did what they could to protect them.
