The Głogów police, under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, are looking for the perpetrator of the bestial act. On the border of the Dolnośląskie and Lubuskie voivodeships on the Odra River, a bound dog body with a severed head packed in a plastic bag was found. Officers are asking for your help in locating the person responsible for this crime.
The macabre discovery was made by a man floating on a pontoon on the Oder on Friday, March 31. From river level, he spotted a plastic bag on the bank, swam over to it, and peered inside.
Bound, headless
– Inside was the carcass of a mixed breed dog bound with a rope with its head cut off. The nature of the injuries clearly indicates human activity. A veterinarian inspected the site. The Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences will perform an autopsy of the animal’s body – says Marcin Knurowski, deputy district prosecutor in Głogów.
In the course of the activities performed at the scene, other injuries to the animal’s body were also revealed. Everything indicates that he was mistreated before his death.
– We are investigating the killing of an animal with extreme cruelty, which is punishable by up to five years in prison. At the moment, we do not have an established person, the search for the perpetrator is underway – adds Knurowski.
