Chief Sanitary Inspectorate: a batch of the Pollen product has been withdrawn from the market

The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate informed about the withdrawal from the market of a product called “Pollen”. It was reported that “the manufacturer has taken steps to increase the control of the raw material regarding the level of pyrrolizidine alkaloids”.

GIS informed that “in the tests of the State Sanitary Inspection, it was found that the permissible level of pyrrolizidine alkaloids in the “Flower pollen” product was exceeded.

“At the request of the Chief Sanitary Inspector, a risk assessment was prepared by experts from the National Institute of Public Health of the National Institute of Hygiene – National Research Institute, according to which the consumption of the product with the given batch number may pose a risk to the health of consumers,” the statement published on Monday indicated.

It is stated that the product is “Pollen” with the batch number: 26/08/2024 08:36 7/1, the date of minimum durability is 26/08/2024. The manufacturer of the product is Gospodarstwo Beekeeping “Sądecki Bartnik” Sp. z o. o. Stróże 235, 33-331 Stróże.

It was reported that “the manufacturer has taken steps to increase the control of the raw material regarding the level of pyrrolizidine alkaloids”. “As part of corrective actions, the manufacturer started the withdrawal procedure from the market and informed the recipients of the questioned goods” – we read in the GIS release.

It was assured that “The District Veterinary Officer in Nowy Sącz supervises the manufacturer’s withdrawal process”. As the GIS points out, “the batch of the product indicated in the message should not be consumed”.
