Cracow. Police raid on a nightclub, busted a gang of pimps

Nine people – seven men and two women – were charged with participating in an organized criminal group engaged in pimping after a raid by police officers and border guards on a nightclub and other places in Krakow and near Krakow. At six addresses, the officers seized, among other things, cash, phones and illegal substances.

On April 21, Małopolska police and border guards detained 23 people at six addresses in Krakow and one town in the Krakow poviat in connection with an investigation into a criminal group dealing in pimping. 16 of them are women, the remaining seven are men.

“During the search of their places of residence, the officers seized 33 mobile phones, cash in the amount of nearly PLN 135,000, over USD 1.5 thousand, over EUR 18,000 and illegal substances,” we read in the release. The police emphasize that the joint action was preceded by a long-term investigation into the gang.

The detainees were taken to police custody, and the next day – on Monday, April 22 – nine people were charged with participating in an organized criminal group engaged in pimping. These are seven men and two women. They face a penalty of up to five years in prison.

“By decision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Krakow (…), police supervision and property bail in the amount of PLN 5,000 to PLN 100,000 were imposed. The case is of an evolving nature, the police do not rule out further arrests,” the MaÅ‚opolska police note in a statement.
