Trump said after his indictment that it was “a very sad day for America.”
“It’s persecution of a political opponent,” he said, referring to the current president Joe Biden. “This should never have happened in the United States,” he said before boarding a flight to return to New Jersey after the court hearing.
He also stated that as he drove through Washington, he saw “dirt and decay.” “This is not a place I left,” he said.

1. conspiracy to defraud the state,
2. colluding to disrupt official procedures,
3. attempts to interfere in ongoing proceedings,
