Easter is coming soon. Therefore, it is worth planning your Christmas shopping well in advance. Here are the details about store openings in the coming days.
Good Friday, March 29
Good Friday, which falls on March 29 this year, is a normal working day. Therefore, as a rule, stores should be open during standard hours. However, some chains decided to extend the opening hours of branches before the holidays.
Biedronka is among them. According to information provided by the company's press office, over 3,000 stores will be open until 11 p.m. on Friday.
The Dino and Netto chains also decided to take such a step. On Good Friday, Dino supermarkets and Netto stores will be open until 11 p.m.
Kaufland stores will also be open longer. “Kaufland chain markets will be open until 11 p.m. (except for branches with trade restrictions: in Białystok at ul. Wierzbowa 2, in Biłgoraj at al. Jana Pawła II 49, in Końskie at ul. Lipowa 12, in Nowy Sącz at ul. Lwowska 80, in Świdnik at ul. Krępiecka 3 and in Warsaw at ul. Połczyńska 4 – these stores will be open to customers until 10 p.m. Additionally, on March 29, 62 stores will be open until midnight,” the chain's press office said.
Moreover, on that day all Carrefour hypermarkets will be open until 11 p.m.
Holy Saturday, March 30
On Holy Saturday, March 30 – in accordance with the Act on the restriction of trade on Sundays and holidays and on certain other days – all shops may be open until 2 p.m. at the latest. Only those establishments where their owners stand behind the counter can be open for longer. Closing hours of branches on Holy Saturday:
- Biedronka: 1.30 p.m.,
- Lidl: 13.00,
- Dino: 1.30 p.m.,
- Auchan: 1:00 p.m.,
- Kaufland: 13.00,
- Net: 13.00,
- Carrefour – 13.00,
- Żabka: 2 p.m., after 2 p.m. the decision to open the store will be made by the franchisees themselves,
- Aldi: 1.30 p.m.
Easter Sunday and Monday, March 31 and April 1
Larger stores will remain closed on Easter Sunday and Monday. We can replenish any product shortages by going to smaller outlets. The Act on Restriction of Trade on Sundays and Holidays provides for an exception for trade conducted personally by an entrepreneur who is a natural person and works in his own name and on his own account.
“The same operating rules apply on these days as on Sundays subject to trade restrictions. Most Żabka stores operate on days subject to restrictions, using the exemption for entrepreneurs selling in person and on their own account. The decision to open the store will be made by the franchisees themselves,” the office said. Żabka Polska press releases. Similar rules apply to Carrefour Express stores.
On Tuesday, April 2, stores will be open during standard hours.
