LOT Polish Airlines will launch a connection between Rzeszów and Gdańsk from June. The flights will be available twice a week. We have recently informed about the planned launch of a domestic route between Szczecin and Modlin near Warsaw by Ryanair.

Representatives of the Rzeszów-Jasionka airport informed on Wednesday that connections between the capital of Podkarpacie and Gdańsk will be available again in the summer. “For the fourth year in a row, we offer this popular connection to passengers from our region and residents of Pomerania. It is an excellent offer both for those who value rest on the Baltic Sea and those looking for a break in the Bieszczady Mountains, Beskid Niski or Roztocze” – he said, quoted in the release, Adam Hamryszczak, President of the Management Board of the Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport.

Flights on this route will be operated twice a week – from June 2 to September 5, 2023.

“Embraer 175s, which take 82 passengers on board, will depart from Gdańsk on Mondays and Fridays at 21.20 to land at the airport in Podrzeszów at 22.35. landing in the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship is scheduled for 8.10. Competition on domestic routes

Domestic flights are also offered by Irish Ryanair. In mid-January this year representatives of the Szczecin Goleniów airport informed that the airline restores the connection between Szczecin and Modlin near Warsaw. Flights operated by the Irish airline will return from March 26. Ryanair inaugurated flights between Szczecin and Modlin in May last year. However, the connection has been suspended since October.

The Szczecin-Goleniów International Airport is approximately 33 km away from Szczecin. The Irish carrier also offers domestic connections between the capital of Western Pomerania and Krakow.

The Warsaw – Szczecin route is in their schedule LOT Polish Airlines, with the difference that the planes of the national carrier offer connections to and from Chopin Airport. Ryanair also flew to Chopin Airport. However, the Irish carrier canceled the connection with Szczecin at the beginning of 2019, explaining it by high costs at the Warsaw airport. The line recently announced that returns to the largest airport in Poland.

According to the latest available data from the Civil Aviation Office, in the first half of 2022 Ryanair served over 5.8 million passengers at Polish airports in domestic and international scheduled traffic. This accounted for 38.93 percent. across the market. The Irish airline was ranked first in this regard.

The second place was taken by LOT Polish Airlines – over 3.4 million passengers (22.79%), and the third Hungarian Wizz Air – nearly 3 million passengers (19.94%). Also at the top of the list were: Lufthansa, KLM and EasyJet.
