A resident of the village of Granowo (West Pomeranian Voivodeship) allegedly stabbed his neighbor's dog because it got onto his property and bit his rabbits. The case is being handled by the prosecutor's office.

The incident took place on March 30 in the village of Granowo near Choszczno. One of the residents allegedly killed a neighbor's dog. Police officers from the District Police Headquarters in Choszczno received a report of animal abuse, but when they arrived, the dog was already dead.

The recording received by Kontakt 24 shows a man holding something in his hand in a yard covered with a tarpaulin and swinging it.

Prosecutor Piotr Wieczorkiewicz, press spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin, clarified that the miniature schnauzer dog was killed with a knife. – The prosecutor arrived at the scene of the incident, an inspection was carried out, witnesses were interviewed, including the dog's owner, and a veterinarian was called to assess the animal's condition – he added. The investigation into the killing of an animal with special cruelty due to the method of operation and the tool used is conducted by the District Prosecutor's Office in Choszczno.

Dariusz M. was charged with killing a dog with particular cruelty, but he pleaded not guilty and provided an explanation. – Two dogs allegedly got onto his property and bit rabbits belonging to him. The man intervened, one of the dogs escaped and the other was killed. These explanations will be verified in the course of further proceedings, the prosecutor added.

The man faces from three months to five years in prison. In previous years, Dariusz M. brought a lawsuit against his neighbors because the dogs barked too loudly and the court decided to move them to another place.
