At least 50 people were killed on Wednesday in two explosions that occurred near the burial site of General Qassem Soleimani in the Iranian city of Kerman, Reuters reported.
Iranian state television said the explosions were the result of “terrorist attacks.”
Qassema Soleimani was the commander of the elite Al Quds unit. He died on January 3, 2020 at the Baghdad airport as a result of an American drone attack.
The semi-official Nournews agency reported that “several gas cylinders exploded on the road leading to the cemetery,” while the SNN news agency reported that ambulances were heading towards the cemetery where hundreds of Iranians had gathered.
