Police officers detained a 57-year-old who stole an Audi from a private property in Janów Podlaski (Lubelskie Voivodeship). He explained that he took the car because he wanted to go to church and pray. Now he faces up to five years in prison.

Commissioner Barbara Salczyńska-Pyrchla from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Biała Podlaska informed about the incident. The car was stolen on Sunday morning on a private property in Janów Podlaski. The report showed that the Audi was parked at the back of the farm under the garage.

“Unfortunately, it was not locked, and there were keys and documents inside the car, and power tools in the trunk. The man admitted that he heard the sound of the engine, but he was convinced that a family member was leaving the car. However, he did not suspect anyone of stealing his property,” the policewoman said.
