The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS) announced the detection of Salmonella bacteria in a batch of salami from Italy. The product was introduced to the Polish market by Lidl. Consumption of the product is associated with a potential risk of food poisoning.
“The Chief Sanitary Inspector was informed via the Early Warning System for Unsafe Food and Feed about the detection of Salmonella bacteria in the batch of salami specified below from Italian. Consumption of the product, especially without heat treatment, is associated with a potential risk of food poisoning.

According to GIS, the manufacturer in Italy and the distributor in Poland have implemented a procedure to withdraw the indicated batch from sale. “The authorities of the State Sanitary Inspection are conducting explanatory proceedings in this case” – added in the release.
GIS emphasized that consumers who bought the batch of the product indicated in the communication should not consume it.
