Head of the Ministry of National Defence Mariusz Blaszczak was asked on Tuesday on Polish Radio 24 about the process of locating the German Patriot anti-aircraft and anti-missile systems in Poland. ABOUT The German Bundeswehr announced the start of the relocation of Patriots to Poland on Monday.

– Within the next few days – said Błaszczak when asked when German equipment will go to Poland. As he added, the last works related to the location of this set are already being carried out. – This will be the Lubelskie Voivodeship – he informed.

According to the minister, the Patriots of the Bundeswehr will be included in the Polish command system, and the Polish Operational Commander of the Armed Forces will decide on their use.

December 21, during Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Washington, the US announced the transfer of the Patriot kit to Ukraine. At the beginning of January, Germany also declared that it would do so.

The head of the Ministry of National Defense asked about creating a new division Polish army – 1st Infantry Division of the Legions, which he announced in recent days in Bialystok – he indicated that the new units included in the appointed division will be created, among others in Grajewo, as well as in Kolno, Siemiatycze and Czerwony Bór near Zambrów. – Also Bialystok, Suwałki, where we reactivated the anti-tank regiment. The Podlaskie Voivodeship will soon have military units, said the Deputy Prime Minister. He stressed that the establishment of a new division is a defensive action.

– In 1994, the garrison in Grajewo was liquidated. At that time, the SLD/PSL coalition was in power and this decision was widely perceived as a mistake. Undoubtedly, the most important thing is that the Polish Army is present in the eastern part of our country. Every piece of Polish land must be defended and will be defended should there be a threat. The PiS government is rebuilding garrisons in the east, it was during the PO/PSL coalition that units were liquidated, especially in the east of the country, thus opening Poland to Putin, said Błaszczak.

The head of the Ministry of National Defense also encouraged residents to join the army, because, in his opinion, Poland is safer thanks to this, and the service itself presents a favorable offer. He also encouraged to participate in the program “Train with the army in winter holidays”, providing a day of training for those willing to use weapons or survival and organized in military units throughout the country during the winter holidays.
