The 87-year-old driver of the Mitsubishi most likely mixed up the gears in his car. The man lost his driving license and will soon appear in court, the Piaseczno police said.
The officer on duty at the Piaseczno police station received a report about a man who hit four parked vehicles in Magdalenka on Lipowa Street. He sent officers to the scene.
“When they reached the location indicated in the report, they found damaged vehicles of the following brands: Hyundai, Volvo, Peugeot and Nissan. It turned out that the perpetrator of all the damage was an 87-year-old man sitting behind the wheel of a Mitsubishi. The man was clearly confused and stunned by what he had done. Most likely, he confused ‘reverse’ with ‘drive’ in his car with an automatic transmission,” said Magdalena Gąsowska, spokeswoman for the Piaseczno police.
He lost his driving license
“Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident, and the senior’s performance was interrupted when his car got stuck on a metal element of the fence. It is easy to imagine what could have happened if his journey had lasted longer,” she added.
The man lost his driving license, and the officers applied to the starosta to send the driver for tests to assess his psycho-physical condition.
The senior will soon appear in court to answer for his actions.
