A Boeing 737-3 plane skidded off the runway at Senegal's international airport. The flight was operated by TransAir and was supposed to fly to Bamako to the neighboring country of Mali.
The plane took off after 1:00 a.m. local time (after 3:00 a.m. in Poland).

For reasons that are still unexplained, the plane veered off the runway and caught fire. During the event there were 85 people on boardincluding two pilots and four crew members.
Passengers got out of the burning machine using emergency slides. However, during the incident, 10 people were injured. ABC News, citing local authorities, reported that the condition of four people was serious.
All injured people were hospitalized, and the rest of the passengers were provided with hotel accommodation.

Footage of the incident it went online. They were probably filmed by one of the passengers during the evacuation. It shows a crashed plane and passengers sliding down emergency slides.
Several photos were also posted from the scene. They show the damaged wing and engine of the plane. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Due to the ongoing activities of the relevant services on site, traffic at the airport was suspended for several hours.
The AP agency reminded that this is the third incident involving Boeing this week. On Thursday at the Turkish airport 190 people were evacuated after one of the plane's front tires burst.
