The ban on Sunday trading has been in place for almost five years. When are commercial Sundays in 2023, i.e. those during which we will be able to do shopping? The closest one this weekend. Here are the dates of the other trading Sundays.

In 2023, as in previous years, there are seven trading Sundays: in January, two in April, in June, in August and two in December. Exceptional situations, i.e. double trading Sundays, precede Easter and Christmas.

Trading Sundays – changes

The act gradually introducing a ban on Sunday trading entered into force on March 1, 2018. The regulations provide for a catalog of 32 exemptions. The ban does not apply to, among others: in post offices, pastry shops, ice cream shops, petrol stations, florists, newspaper shops and coffee shops.

From the beginning of February 2022, changes to the Sunday trading ban have been in force, the purpose of which is to tighten the regulations in force so far. After the entry into force of the amendment, the opening of shops on non-commercial Sundays, which also provide postal services, is possible if the revenues from this activity exceed 40 percent of the total. revenue of the institution.

Pursuant to the regulation of the Ministry of Finance, sales records are to be kept separately for each retail outlet, even if a given entrepreneur has several such outlets.
