Exactly 28 years ago, a carnival party took place in a primary school in Simoradz (Silesian Voivodeship), after which 10-year-old Ania Jałowiczor disappeared. Police said the child was most likely abducted on the way home. By whom and what happened next? This still explains the police X-Files. Today, the missing person may be 38 years old. – Someone knows the truth. Someone can stop the torment of uncertainty – says the missing woman’s brother, who claims that a new lead has appeared in the case.

The story of the mysterious disappearance of Ania Jałowiczor was told at the end of 2021 by TVN24 reporter Małgorzata Marczok in reportage “I will go on alone”. Dominik Jałowiczor, brother of the missing woman – on the 28th anniversary of her sister’s disappearance – reports that after many years there was hope that the circumstances of the case would finally be solved.

– The police are analyzing a new thread that appeared just before Christmas. I cannot give details, but there has not been such a strong and consistent signal in recent years, says Dominik Jałowiczor.

It only points out that the source of this information is the person who found contact with the relatives of the missing person. “The informant said he had been battling his thoughts and guilt for almost 30 years,” the man said. And he adds: – We all want us to stop living in uncertainty. Let’s have facts instead of guesses. So that we can move forward.

We asked the police about the information provided by the brother of the missing woman. We are waiting for answer.

A school party she never came back from

From September 1994, Ania was a student of the fourth grade of the primary school in Simoradz. Previously, a town located near the border with Czechs she visited very rarely, for short family gatherings. Her grandmother lived here, with whom the siblings moved in when their parents went to work abroad.

On January 24, 1995, a school party took place. Ania’s carers and friends recall that the girl was absent, often looking out the window and asking the teacher about the time. When asked if she was having a bad time and if she wanted to go home, she replied in the negative.

After playing, most of the children set off in groups towards their homes. Ania went alone in the opposite direction – she was going to her grandmother’s house. The road was a kilometer long, led between local ponds. To this day, it is not known what happened that the girl never reached her destination. The files of the investigation include accounts of witnesses who heard a child (probably a girl) squeal and the sound of a car driving away quickly. For some time, the police were looking for the driver of a bright Fiat 125p or Lada, which had – in the days preceding Ania’s disappearance – appeared near the school. None of these actions yielded results.

Brother of the missing: someone knows the truth, someone can stop the agony of uncertainty

The missing woman’s brother says that the family has not come to terms with Ania’s disappearance until now.

It’s not a taboo subject for us. He returns regularly. All my adult life we’ve been in suspense. I wish it would end. I would like our parents to finally be able to find peace – emphasizes Dominik Jałowiczor.

He set up a fundraiser online. He is collecting money for a reward for the person who provides key information for the case.

– I hope this will break the circle of silence. Someone knows the truth. Someone can stop the torment of uncertainty – says Ania’s brother.

He emphasizes that the person who informed about the latest and – in his opinion – very promising lead did not ask for a reward.

“I’d love to see my sister again.” That would be great. However, we will be relieved to receive any information that will end decades of uncertainty. There is nothing worse than living in limbo, concludes Jałowiczor.
