The police detained a 39-year-old resident of Staszów (Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship), who is suspected of attacking his 66-year-old mother with a knife. According to officers, the woman was stabbed several times in the chest area. She died in the hospital. Her son and partner were also there.
The incident took place on Friday evening in Staszów. Before 8 p.m., the police received a report about a man who was running around with a knife in the city center – on Piłsudskiego Street – and was about to injure someone.

Police arrested a 39-year-old man. The attacker, his mother and the woman’s 65-year-old partner were taken to the hospital with injuries. From the beginning, doctors described the woman’s condition as life-threatening. We determined that she had been stabbed several times in the chest area. Unfortunately, today, around 5.30 am, she died in the hospital – informed the junior aspirant Joanna Szczepaniak, spokeswoman for the Staszów police on Saturday.
The son of the deceased woman is also in the hospital. – He is guarded by policemen. He has injuries that do not allow him to be interrogated at the moment, Szczepaniak added.
Police officers working under the supervision of the prosecutor, who explain the entire course of the incident, worked on the spot.
