Three trucks collided on Monday morning in Słomków Suchy near Sieradz (Łódź Voivodeship). According to police, one of the drivers was injured after he crashed into the truck in front of him and was then hit from behind by another vehicle. Firemen pulled him out of the cabin. The horrific incident happened around 4:10 p.m. on Monday. Three trucks collided on the national road number 12 in Słomków Suchy near Sieradz. One of the drivers was injured.
We got photos from the scene Contact 24. They show that the force of the impact was so great that the cabin of one of the trucks fell onto the road.
Police: the reason for not keeping a safe distance
According to the services, the driver of one of the trucks, for unknown reasons, drove into the semi-trailer of the iveco driving in front of him. Then another truck hit him from behind. The injured man was trapped in the cabin. Firemen pulled him out.
– The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries – informed staff assistant Agnieszka Kulawiecka, press officer of the Sieradz police. She added: – Our findings show that the accident happened because of not keeping a safe distance, first by a 66-year-old Renault driver, and then by a 44-year-old Scania driver.
All drivers involved in the incident were sober. National road number 12 at the scene of the accident was initially completely blocked. Later, the police introduced a shuttle service there. Disruptions are expected to last until around 10 a.m.
