A soldier of the 12th Woliński Minesweeper Squadron was charged with appropriation of ship fuel. In turn, another uniformed officer and two reservists heard allegations of receiving receipts.
As the deputy district prosecutor for military matters of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Poznań, Colonel Bartosz Okoniewski, informed the media, two soldiers and two reservists were detained in the case of appropriation of military property for profit.
Theft in the Navy. Four people charged
– The Military Matters Department of the Szczecin-Niebuszewo District Prosecutor’s Office in Szczecin is investigating four people, including two boatswain soldiers, for the misappropriation of entrusted property in the form of fuel and other property of the MPS service – said Col. Okoniewski. He explained that it was about marine fuel and “various types of hydraulic oils and lubricants”.
He added that the main suspect is a boatswain from the 12th Woliński Minesweeper Squadron – this is a tactical unit of the 8th Coastal Defense Flotilla from Świnoujście. The soldier was charged with failing to fulfill his duties in order to obtain a financial benefit by appropriating the property of the MPS service entrusted to him.

Another boatswain from the same unit, as well as two reserve soldiers, were charged with fencing. The crimes allegedly took place in Świnoujście, the allegations cover the period from April 2019 to March 2023.
