During his speech in Bydgoszcz, Szymon Hołownia pointed out that the state of health care is symbolized by the situation in child psychiatry. Its change should be a priority, because there are no more important matters than the fact that children want to take their own lives – said the leader of Poland 2050.

– I want to promise a state that works. Not a state that gives away, but a state that acts. Poland is supposed to work and should work like a Swiss watch. I want to create such a state with my collaborators and with millions of Poles who I believe will follow us. The leader of Poland 2050 pointed out that one of the spheres that needs to be addressed is health care. – Health protection is a river topic. – In this case, a fair mechanism should work in relation to the citizen who pays the health insurance and has the right to expect that if he falls, the state will give him a hand, and not say welcome in 1.5 years – he stressed.
Hołownia: the result of many years of neglect
Hołownia assessed that child psychiatry is a symbol of the situation in health care. He added that everyone must face the responsibility for the increasing number of suicides and suicide attempts among children.
– The number of suicide attempts among children in the last measured year was the same as in the last three years combined. This growth is powerful. Children between the age of seven take their own lives, and a child psychiatrist, due to many years of neglect, looks the way it does, he said.

– All the money that is available for this must be put into this system. We need to help the system that is being reformed now, so that there is more money, so that children have not only a hospital, but also community day care – argued the head of Poland 2050.
Hołownia wants a change in the situation in child psychiatry
The politician pointed out that it should be the case that if a child finds itself in a mental crisis and you go with him to a doctor under the National Health Fund and you have to wait a month, the state should reimburse the cost of a private visit. He admitted that such a situation could not last forever for the state to pay for private visits to the doctor, so the state would have to change the system, but now the youngest had to be saved.
He argued that it must be so that if someone takes a child with problems to the doctor, they should receive help immediately, because the child, especially at a certain stage, cannot wait for the National Health Fund to “unlock”.
Hołownia assured that changing the situation in child psychiatry is Poland’s commitment by 2050.
