While waiting for a patrol called to report an aggressive man who was abusing a woman in Reggio di Calabria, Italy, the couple’s three daughters ran to the balcony and screamed for help.
The police intervention took place last Saturday. According to the woman’s account, the couple’s quarrel allegedly started for a trivial reason. – She told him to pick up the ash from the cigarette, which he deliberately dropped on the ground – reports Vittorio Pisani from the police in Reggio di Calabria.

The furious 47-year-old then allegedly attacked his wife with his fists, punched and kicked her. – He did it in the presence of his daughters, a twelve-year-old, a ten-year-old and an eight-year-old. Their youngest daughter, seeing her father attacking her mother once again, dialed the emergency number 113 (the emergency number of the police in Italy – ed.) and handed her the phone to call for help – describes the policeman.
The woman told the dispatcher over the phone that her husband was taking it out on her and was not letting her go to work by blocking the door of the apartment. A patrol immediately moved to the spot. – While still on the street, the police noticed three girls on the balcony of the apartment, they were shouting: ‘Come, come, we are here!’, one of them was holding a white card with the word “HELP” in her hands – Pisani informs.

The officers entered the apartment and detained the aggressor. – He was obviously under the influence of alcohol, he created sentences that made no sense. When the woman talked about the violence she had experienced from the man, mentioning the insults and death threats directed towards her, the girls silently showed the police the sign of calling for help, clenching their thumb in their hand – reports Vittorio Pisani.

The woman also added that the man had repeatedly beaten her, kicked her and pulled her hair, and did not allow her to meet her family. All this happened in the presence of his three daughters, who hid in their room during moments of his aggression.
The 47-year-old, who had a ban on approaching his wife, was detained and taken to a detention center.
